Recruited on November 10, 1940, he later held the role of a “Special Agent in Charge Contact” in 1954—essentially a voluntary liaison who could be tapped for information about communist influence in Hollywood. This association persisted until his death in 1966, though it never framed him as a spy. Rather, it reflected a cooperative stance with the Bureau, particularly after Disney produced a favorable segment about the agency for the original Mickey Mouse Club and withheld the final cut until just before it aired. The FBI subsequently chose to discontinue collaborations involving Disney.
